Michelle’s Knit Bag

by Craig on February 23, 2008

Just like Kate who created her own design for her latest shawl, Michelle took her knowledge of how to knit a bag and came up with something all her own. I think the result is amazing!

Michelle brought her grandmother into the store to chose the yarn. She selected 3 different colors of Aslan Trends new Glacier del Cielo yarn. Each 50 gram ball contains approximately 137 yards of 100% cotton yarn. It’s a great value at $5.00 per ball.

Michelle used a different stitch pattern every time she changed colors. Textured knit and purl combinations, small and large scale lace patterns, and on the back, a large cable motif.

To finish it off, a big pretty button, a tassel, an i-cord strap, and a fabric lining.

I just love this bag. The combination of the recipient’s yarn choice and the knitter’s personal style makes it a gift that’s meaningful to both of them. You did a fantastic job, Michelle! I’m sure your grandmother loves it!
