Phoebe’s Sweater is a wonderful children’s book about a young mouse and the cardigan her mother knits her. After the story, the book includes knitting patterns for a stuffed toy version of Phoebe, a sweater for the toy, and the same sweater for little girls.
Phoebe’s Sweater is written by Joanna Johnson and illustrated by her husband Eric Johnson, who will visit us at Loop on Saturday, June 26 from 2 to 4 pm.
It had been a long time since I’d read an illustrated book, but I’ve read plenty with my nephews in the last 4 years. I love seeing them get involved in a story and read a story they like again and again. I plan on reading Phoebe’s Sweater with them on my next visit. I think they’ll enjoy it and I think your little ones will too.
You can follow Phoebe’s knitting and travel adventures on her blog. And mark your calendars so you can meet Joanna, Eric, and Phoebe on June 26!

I live in Chicago and can’t make it there–is there any way to buy/order a signed copy of the book? My youngest daughter, Phoebe, just turned 5 and will head off to Kindergarten in the fall and this would be the perfect little gift for her!
Sure! Give us a call at 877-893-9939 and we’ll make the arrangements.
