Westknits Book One is a collection of eight new patterns featuring Stephen West’s popular design style. Known for his ability to beautifully showcase yarns and color, Stephen combines simple stitch patterns with clever shapes to create accessories that are a joy for both men and women to knit and to wear.

32 pages, paperback
8 patterns (5 scarves and shawls, 3 hats)

To celebrate the release of Westknits Book One, we’re offering 10% off all in-stock Madelinetosh Tosh Sock Yarn now through October 31, 2010. Tosh Sock is a superwash merino fingering weight yarn that’s dyed in an amazing array of colors. It can be used for several designs in Westknits Book One as well as for several existing Westknits designs.

Stephen West is the designer of the Botanic Hat and the shawls Daybreak, and Little Colonnade. Other than one design in Knitty, Stephen’s work has been self-published. The Botanic Hat took us by storm last winter. It’s clever use of a slip stitch pattern and two colors of super-soft Malabrigo Worsted Merino yarn made it the season’s most popular hat. You can knit two Botanic Hats with two hanks of Worsted Merino, which made it a great project for holiday gifts.

Little Colonnade and Daybreak are small shawls that can be knit with one or two hanks of Madelinetosh Tosh Sock, respectively. Stephen played a large role in the popularizing small shawls, which he is often seen wearing, point in the front and ends thrown around the neck to the opposite sides.

Stephen has really captured the knitting world’s attention with his clean, fresh designs that are so well-suited to hand-dyed yarns. I’m predicting that his first pattern collection – Westknits Book One – will be the go-to pattern source for this fall/winter season. Don’t wait to get your copy!

  3. Are there any published errata for the West Knits Book ONe……….before I start in on a big project and find mistakes halfway through???? Thanks.

  4. Jill, I’m not aware of any errata for Westknits Book One. It never hurts to check on Raverly before beginning any project, though.
