Insouciant

I know what you’re thinking. I’m showing you a picture of a short sleeve sweater and it’s FREEZING out- I must be crazy! While I wouldn’t wear it outside today, I am choosing to think of this sweater as aspirational. Spring is coming and so is the opportunity to wear this Julie Hoover design! Insouciant is French for airy, blithe & carefree, which is exactly how I’ll be feeling when the temperatures hit 65 & I’m walking through town in this pretty tee!

We knit our Insouciant using Rowan’s Revive in Marble. Part of Rowan’s Purelife collection, this yarn is 100% recycled. It’s 36% recycled cotton, 36% recycled silk, 28% recycled viscose. This light, tweedy mix makes for cool & drapey garments- just like this one!

A raglan knit in pieces, Insouciant has a relaxed fit with refined details. Side vents, rolled neckband and exposed raglan seams add knitting interest and a little flair!

With clear instructions and simple shapes, This is a quick knit for an experienced knitter or a great first sweater project for a newbie. Since the raglan sleeves and sides are just straight seams, it’s perfect for learning mattress stitch without worrying about easing in a set-in sleeve. After you’ve sewn it all together, you’ll get practice in picking up stitches for the neckline.

Whether you’re new to knitting or not, there’s no doubt you’ll look cute, cool & insouciant when you’re finished & wearing this sweater!

This hit the bull’s eye for everything I’m looking for in a Spring/Summer tee. It’s going to the top of my list.
