Spring Jumper in Sycamore

by Laura on August 23, 2013

What’s cuter than a tiny striped baby dress? A tiny redhead wearing one! Our new yarn, Sycamore, is so soft, I thought it would make a perfect baby project. I couldn’t decide on just one color so I knew I wanted to make something striped. A quick Ravelry search later and I cast on for Hannah Fettig’s Spring Jumper.

Sycamore is a new fingering weight blend of superwash merino, cashmere & nylon from Field & Forest. This makes it super soft for baby AND it’s machine washable. The colors are all hand dyed, semi-solids in a soft, pretty palette just right for special projects. I chose Dogwood & Silver Sedge to knit my dress, and I LOVE how they look with my little friend’s red hair!

The Spring Jumper is knit in the round from the bottom up, and then divided at the armholes to finish the front & back separately. I knit the 12-18 month size, and while my little model is tall for her age, she’s only 9 months, so this was a little roomy on her. I think it still looks pretty cute though, don’t you think? That sweet little face might just have something to do with it!
