This fall brings the release of Shibui’s gorgeous new yarn Pebble. Pebble is a luxe blend of silk, wool & cashmere in a versatile fingering weight gauge. It feels AMAZING! Soft, light and dyed in a rich range of hues, this is a yarn you are definitely going to want to knit this season!

Craig cast on right away for our new Easy Rib Cowl, by holding 2 strands of Pebble with one strand of Shibui’s Silk Cloud and knitting a classic 2 x 2 rib. The Silk Cloud provides a halo of softness plus, frankly, we think everything is better with a little silk and mohair carried along!

Tripling the yarn this way adds more color and texture to the fabric and plays up Pebble’s tweedy look. It also allows the use of a size 8 needle, making this a project that Craig finished in just a few days!

The result is a soft, drapey cowl that will be your constant companion this fall & winter! Now that Craig has knit one, everyone at the shop wants one in all possible combinations. We narrowed it down to 4 of our favorites, for easy mixing! The colors Craig chose are pictured below at bottom right.

Top Row, Left: Pebble in Suit & Canal, Silk Cloud in Graphite.
Top Row, Right: Pebble in Tar & Abyss, Silk Cloud in Abyss.

Bottom Row, Left: Silk Cloud in Flaxen, Pebble in Brass & Trail.
Bottom Row, Right: Pebble in Ivory & Sidewalk, Silk Cloud in Caffeine.

You will need 1 skein of each to make the cowl – 3 balls total. The knitting pattern is free below!
