Bronwyn is a big, beautiful scarf knit in Blue Sky Bulky! There is no doubt that you will be warm and cozy wearing this astonishingly soft 50/50 blend of wool and alpaca. Blue Sky’s clear, bright colors are a welcome antidote to a cold winter’s day.
You will have so much fun knitting Bronwyn! One scarf took me about 2 episodes of Homeland (I love that show!) – so this scarf is perfect for checking off your holiday knit list.
The stitch pattern is a simple fisherman’s rib that creates a very fluffy, dimensional fabric. It’s very similar to brioche but it’s much less tricky. It uses a K1b, or K1 below, to make the extra puffy stitches.
K1b is exactly what it sounds like- instead of knitting the next stitch on your needle, you knit the one BELOW the next stitch on your needle and then slip both stitches off the left hand needle.
Here’s a video to give you a visual, if you need it!
Bronwyn feels substantial, looks beautiful and knits quickly- making it ideal for gift knitting. Here’s our free pattern, enjoy!
