Ellery Poncho

I love that beautiful drapey ponchos are in vogue right now! There’s no better way to look effortlessly stylish, stay warm and show off your favorite yarn all at the same time. The Ellery Poncho, the latest design from Loop staffer Erika Flory, does all these things, plus it’s fun to knit!

Knit with our beloved Hannah yarn, a luxe worsted blend of baby alpaca, fine merino and cashmere, Ellery is a piece that you will want to throw on as you’re running out the door every day – and you’ll look instantly polished once you do.

Ellery is knit all in one piece – edging too – with a pretty antler cable running along one edge. The cable is a simple to learn and adds interest to your stockinette. Finished with minimal seaming at one shoulder and then quickly steamed, you’re ready to roll.

This is an ideal holiday project to make for your mother, daughter, or best friend. The worsted weight yarn will knit up more quickly than you think and there’s no worrying about fit. You just have to choose their favorite color!

Ellery takes 5 skeins of Hannah – Erika knit hers in hunter – and a 32-inch US8 (5.0mm) circular needle. Which color will you choose to wrap up in this winter?
