Eco Duo Hat

Eco Duo Hat

Cascade Eco Duo yarn is one of the softest in the shop. Baby alpaca – that’s the fiber from an alpaca’s first shearing – and merino wool are combined in undyed, naturally occurring shades for a worsted weight yarn that is an absolute joy to knit.

The yarn transitions through the different shades in each skein for a striping effect. I went for the black, grey, and natural of the color zebra for my hat, but honestly, I love each colorway; shown below from left to right: zebra, storm, vanilla, koala, and chicory.

Eco Duo Yarn

This hat is a basic watch cap that’ll fit most adults. I had plenty leftover, so if you want a slouchier hat, work another inch or two of stockinette stitch before you start the decreases. Or, for extra warmth around your ears, work another two inches of ribbing, and you can fold up the brim.
