Chesterfield

My first project of 2015 is complete – Chesterfield by Julie Hoover. I love knitting myself sweaters and it’s been a while since I made one. The timing worked out perfectly too. It’s FREEZING here in Philadelphia and Chesterfield is warm and so, so cozy!

Me wearing my new pullover!

Pattern: Chesterfield by Julie Hoover – includes options for a tunic length and waist shaping.

Yarn: Brooklyn Tweed Loft in meteorite and stormcloud; held together throughout.

Size: 46-inch chest

Modifications: I used a longtail cast on and regular bind off instead of tubular ones. I omitted the stripes. My gauge was a little smaller than suggested, so I knit a size larger.

I loved knitting with two strands of Loft. The resulting color is fantastic and it feels so warm and squeezable. I’d really like to knit myself a cardigan now with two different shades.

The pattern, like all Brooklyn Tweed patterns, is wonderfully clear, full of useful information and thoughtful details. This is definitely my go-to sweater for the rest of winter!
