New Shop Sample: Hiawatha

Tonia Barry's Hiawatha Vest Pattern

Laura recently finished knitting the Hiawatha Vest in Classic Elite’s Firefly yarn. It’s a wonderful, three-season layering piece – wear it with a tank dress for a little extra coverage at air conditioned summer events, or use it to dress up jeans and a long-sleeved tee in the fall and early spring.

The long draped fronts create a soft, flattering line and the reverse stockinette on the collar is a smart detail.

Classic Elite Yarn's Firefly

Firefly is blend of viscose and linen that makes a finished fabric with soft sheen and wonderful drape. It comes in warm and cool neutrals, soft mid-range tones, and rich shades.

This was a simple knit with clear directions – perfectly suited for poolside knitting! You can knit it with an open or closed back style. Laura knit the 36-inch size, closed back version with 6 balls of Firefly in silver.

Sized for 32 (36, 40, 44, 48, 52) inch busts, you’ll need 6 (6, 7, 8, 8, 9) balls of Firefly for the corresponding size and US 5 needles to knit your own.
