New Shop Sample: Hitchhiker in Koigu

Hitchhiker Scarf in Koigu

Last week, Kathy finished knitting Martina Behm’s Hitchhiker Scarf in Koigu KPPPM color P839-67. It’s so much fun to play with different combinations of Koigu yarn that I sometimes forget how beautiful a piece is in just one colorway. The shades of blue and purple look like an Impressionist painting.

Hitchhiker Scarf

Hitchhiker is a shallow triangle made in garter stitch, so the knitting is easy. It’s stepped edge is made by binding off stitches – also easy. You don’t need to count stitches, just bind off all stitches when you have the length you want. Kathy’s version is 60 inches long and 11 inches at the deepest point.

To knit your own, you’ll need 3 skeins of Koigu KPPPM, a 32-inch size US 4 circular needle, and the Hitchhiker pattern.
