Brice is a close-fitting cowl that’s soft and cozy thanks to voluminous garter stitch and plush Lana Vida Francesca. The pattern is free – see below – and the yarn is 25% off this month – a perfect combination for the gift-giving season!
Because it’s garter stitch worked in the round, you alternate rounds of knit with rounds of purl. And for the stripes, all the knit rounds are made with the main color and the purl rounds are made with the contrast color.
Here’s how to make your own:
22 inches in circumference & 8 inches tall.
Lana Vida Francesca [80% baby alpaca, 20% merino wool; 120 yds / 100g]: 2 skeins, 1 for Main Color, 1 for Contrast Color; shown in Royal and Light Blue.
24-inch US 10.5 circular needle.
3.5 sts = 1 inch in St st.
With Main Color, cast on 80 sts.
Round 1: Knit with Main Color.
Round 2: Purl with Contrast Color.
Rep rounds 1 & 2 until piece measures 7.75 inches from cast on edge.
Bind off with Contrast Color. Weave in ends.
Francesca’s palette offers many beautiful pairing combinations for Brice. Our first version was knit with Royal and Light Blue. For our second, we used Coral and Blush (shown above).
Try Bright Blue with Royal or Light Blue for a real pop of color. Or Crimson and Royal. Or Spring and Forest!
