Fair Isle Cowl, August 21


Wednesday, August 21 and 28 from 6:00 to 7:30PM

Fair Isle knitting is a centuries old technique of using two colors in the same row to create beautiful designs in your knitting. You’ll learn to hold and manage your yarns while maintaining your tension while knitting a colorful cowl with traditional motifs.

Materials: TinCanKnits’ Strange Brew pattern, 4 hanks of Brooklyn Tweed Arbor 1 each in Ranier and Tincture, 2 of Fleet or a comparable DK-weight yarn; 16-inch size US 4 and US 6 circular needles, stitch markers, and darning needle.

Homework: Using the smaller needle, cast on 132 stitches and work K1, P1 rib for 1 inch.

Skill level: This class is for graduates of Knit 2 or those who are comfortable knitting and purling in the round.
